The Story of Mimi-Nashi-Hoichi By Lafcadio Hearn

This story was very unique to me in it special way, it had more of a story book feel to it. Even though did take a while to pick up. It first started off explaining that there was bad juju in regarding sprits and demons in this story due to the past war, but in regards to the clans they all seemed pretty neutral in the "good vs evil" department. It wasn't until the samurai approached Hoichi, is when things got strange. The full good vs evil didnt really come forward until the Hoichi was discovered in the grave yard, and admitted all that was happening to the priest. When things popped off in the story, and Hoichi lost his ears. I felt sorry for him because he's a kind just bind man that wants to plat the biwa. Although I didn't feel any evil intent with the samurai sprit. It felt more like a bunch of lonely sprits just wanted some entertainment in their after life, rather than the same old same old.
